Easy run (with 6 Hill sprints) 1:17:29 [2] 9.11 mi (8:30 / mi)
shoes: S-Lab ultra 2nd pair

Wet morning, ran from gym around Mersey. Ran 6 hillsprints after 4 miles.

My quads and hammys felt sore- DOMS from weights yesterday. I knew I would be sore today, but just got on with it. As I progressed into the run I felt better.

Had 15mins in sauna afterwards, was glad to get out, but will stick with it. The DOMS had got better especially after the sauna. 10 hours on writing this I feel pretty stiff. Will hopefully be better for long MP run tomorrow

shoes: Kayano 25

Run to/from gym- legs felt fast from this morning.

Swiss Ball Hamstring curl (HC) 15 each leg, 20 each leg, 25 each leg

Dumb Bell Step Ups (SU) 8kg dumdbells 3x 15 each leg

Side (Lateral) Lunge (SC) 8kg dumbell 3x15 each leg

Squat (S)- just used the bar (20Kg) 3x15

Deadlift (D) 40kg 3 x15

Tried to do reps slowly with good technique, will watch videos again.

Legs felt a bit wobbly when I went outside to run home, I'm sure I will be sore over next few days!

Interval (tempo intervals) 1:44:55 [4] 14.58 mi (7:12 / mi)
shoes: Boost Tempo 9

Very windy day, not ideal for running fast around a 400m track, at least it wasn't raining! Felt a bit tired, out at daughter's school last night for xmas concert so bit of a late night.

Ran easy to Stretford, wind was behind me so felt very easy.

Session: 4x10min tempo intervals (aim 5.55 miles) 2 min easy recovery

According to Garmin ran 1.73miles (5.46 min/mile), 1.74miles (5.46), 1.73miles (5.48), 1.73miles (5.47) so very consistent pacing, didn't look at my watch! just ran hard, but fairly comfortable. Forgetting about the Garmin for each rep I ran near enough 6.5 laps of the track (2600m) in 10mins. This equals 260m/min which is just over 6min/miles.

Each 400m lap it I was running into a very strong headwind down the 100m straight, just felt like it brought me to a halt at times so was far from ideal

Steady Run 1:29:11 [3] 12.43 mi (7:10 / mi)
shoes: Kayano 25

Cold virtually gone, but left me with a productive cough, no wheeze. started today with intention of running easy, but might increase to steady pace if feel relaxed. first mile was 7.58 and increased to nearly 7 min pace for 5 miles then rest of run was 7min or below. It felt fine, had to cough the odd time and was ok at the end. Legs didn't feel fatigued, shoulders were relaxed. Some strong head winds in places

12 PM

Easy run 1:03:15 [2] 7.91 mi (8:00 / mi)
shoes: Kayano 25

Ran to and from PT. See PT each Monday now @ 1pm. Thought since I only ran for 1 hour this morning @ 11min/mile pace av I would run easy to/from PT. Again I felt ok, just took it easy.

Easy run 24:00 [2] 3.0 mi (8:00 / mi)
shoes: Boost Tempo 9

WU. Feel better, throat much better, cold mainly in my head
10 AM

Race race (Wimslow 10K) 36:28 [4] 10.0 km (3:39 / km) +35m 3:35 / km
shoes: Boost Tempo 9

Conditions very good, cool, slight wind, mainly dry.

Still feel a bit crappy, was in bed for 11.30pm, only had 3 drinks so thought I would give it a go.

The start area was rammed so I was about 30m back from the start line. Took a while to get into a rhythm, overtook other runners the whole way.
Went thru 2k in 7min- felt like I was starting to struggle and my cadence suffered. Once I had slowed slightly the pace was more comfortable. Pleased with the effort, don't think it was too risky running with a cold as it was getting better. 4 hrs on writing this entry throat is not sore, not coughing, head feels much clearer.
