Steady Run 2:01:19 [3] 15.0 mi (8:05 / mi)
shoes: Kayano 25 white 2nd pair

Ran with Dave for an hour, then park run @ Sale Water Park then home. Legs were still heavy, ran ok, but the Park run trashed my feet a bit with running on stony, shitty path around the Mersey. Ran effort as CDR so good training

Race 6:10:50 [3] 45.98 mi (8:04 / mi) +161m 7:59 / mi
shoes: Hoka Carbon X

Saturn Running race in Reading. 3.28mile loop mainly on grass/trails, only about 400m of tarmac.

I completed 14 laps, was 4-5 laps ahead of everyone else!, decided to get a shower while the sports centre was open (it closed @ 4.30pm, exactly the time when the race ended!).
Nutrition: coke diluted with water (approx 400ml per lap), gel every 20mins. It worked pretty well, but started to go off the gels towards the end. Next time I will have one of the Gu wafers per hour.
I probably went off a bit quick, pace felt very comfortable, felt I started to slow after 30miles. Next time I will be strict with myself and go off no quicker than 8.30 pace.
I wore the injinji socks which worked really well-no blisters. Unfortunately I banged my toe going to bed last night- I made a proper job, it was very bruised and kept me awake- I was more worried that I would not be able to run. However it gave me no trouble, but most of the toe has deep brusing- I can walk/run fine so I'm not worried.
The race was well organised, ideal for sparta with an aid station every 3 miles. It's not on tarmac, but that reduces the risk of injury and I should recover much quicker.
