shoes: S-Lab ultra 2nd pair
Was on holiday near Kielder Water. Found a route on OS maps, wanted about 3 hours. Big mistake! First 4-5miles were ok, was going at about 9min/mile pace on good tracks. The track disappeared and I was brought to a rough walk through heather and rough foliage. After a mile I thought should I turn around, but thought there must be a path soon. Kept going and after 2-3 hours, through numerous streams and rivers hit a track again. Got back at 4.50, last 30mins of daylight. The scenery was amazing, much of the run was along the scottish border, but didn't enjoy it one bit: was not prepared at all.
