Intention was to run 50miles (10x5mile loop around Macc Forrest). It was cold and wet. Started off ok, first 4 laps were consistent, was having gel every 15-20mins for Torq drink.

I ran with Paul for the first 3 laps, he bailed out afterwards. At the start of lap 4 my R Knee was rubbing, felt pretty sore. It was fine on the flat and downhill, it was the steeper ascents which made it sore. Met Paul at the end of lap 4, he sowed the seed of he was done and maybe I just wanted to complete marathon distance. I let my mental side get the better of me and decided to finish at 26.2.
Positives: on for 7.30 finish, felt strong ran well, able to carry on training without a break, enjoyed the run
Negatives: didn't run 50miles!, had a lot of chaffing (it was wet), still need to nail my nutrition, have had inconsistent last 4-6 weeks, but my motivation has been renewed with this run so will be back on it now.
