shoes: S-Lab 3 ultra

Loop around Middlewood Way, trails and back along canal. Wet, windy morning, v muddy in places. Was a great loop, just ran at bout 5 rpe. Had gel every 20mins, ran also with 500ml carb drink. Energy levels were fine. L side was a bit uncomfortable, but ran ok.

Ran 0.9 mile loop in Bowdon. Windy, cool morning. Kept decent pace: 6:38-6:58. Had to work harder as running in the headwind. Legs felt fine, pleased with the effort

Easy run around Dunham, mostly on trails.

Session with Chris yesterday. Told him about sore L hamstring/hip area particularly after easy running, seemed to be fine with moderate running.
Did assessment of hips: L Hip weaker than right. He thinks with easy runninf I'm using the hips more and towards the end the hip flexors/muscles are fatigued and then putting more strain on the hamstrings.

He's changed my strength, C&P routine slightly: doing more endurance type work: working the muscles to fatigue.

He watched me run on treadmill: basics are ok, does not want to change my running action, more strengthen the core/hips.

He attacked the L hip area, eased the muscles/hip flexor. Felt much better today.

I will e-mail the altered rehab routine once I receive it.

As mentioned I'm off this week, been getting out each morning, walks in the afternoon. Should do about 77 miles this week. Might do the 80min moderate run tomorrow instead (FRI) then will have easy day before SE run on Sunday: is that OK with you?

Easy run around Canal. Ran in my first pair of Hoka X. The other pair had a rip in them so no longer use them. The Hokas felt light and fast.

Run mainly on trails and grass around Sale water park. Felt pretty much ok throughout, but left side was a bit sore at the end. Seem to feel fine if I'm running at a decent pace, just seems a bit sore if I slow down!
Did strength, C&P afterwards.
Seeing Chris this pm, will discuss L side with him.

Ran with Heather around Macc Forrest: more of a run/walk, lots of ascent. Hip flexors were sore at the start, bur felt great at the end.

shoes: Adidas Temp 9 Grey

Ran with Mike and Adrian around Dunham: big change in temp: now 10 degrees, felt v pleasant. Good steady run, worked hard in the last few miles. Legs/hammys felt tired at the end, all good

Kept the pace v. easy. Did strides towards the end. Legs felt ok, bit sore around the hips

Ran a 2 mile loop on tarmac around Broadheath: slight incline, had to work fairly hard into the wind. It was warmer today (4 degrees), but fairly stiff breeze in one direction. Managed to keep v. consistent pace: 6.43-6.56. Pace felt comfortable. Hammys felt ok. Pleased with the session.

Did strength session in the afternoon: swiss ball, romanian dead lift.

Tough session: should of done a light session: felt drained afterwards.

Will have a light easy day tomorrow.
