ICO Meet at Yellowwood SF south of Indianapolis (Blue Course) - Nice local meet that turned out a bit better than I expected.

The woods were very open and and with the exception of some low briars (multi-flora rose?) and some areas of recent logging that did not make it onto the map I didn't have too many problems. Reentrant and spur terrain throughout the map. Nice that they offered early starts (8AM), but unfortunately it was still <30 degrees at 10:00 when I went off. There were great facilities available and the map was excellent.

Other than not packing my gaiters, I made one fairly significant mistake - choosing the wrong spur off of a ridge. Unfortunately there was a deep reentrant and even higher ridge that I had to navigate to get to the control. Maybe a 5 minute mistake - GPS track will tell) Made another minor misjudge on contouring around a ridge too far, but it didn't take me too far off the line.

One other interesting thing was the Etrackpoint system they were trying to use. It looked pretty old and it was giving them problems. I wasn't even sure how it worked - maybe some kind of magnet on the pin-punch? Makes me wonder if we should have looked harder for a club that could have used our old SI system (which we saved $600 on by returning when we upgraded)

Overall a good meet and a decent crowd. Oh yeah, I think I finished second by about 3 minutes.
