Hockey 1:15:00 [3]

seems like we cannot get enough players to field more than 2 defensive lines. More playing time is usually better but tonight it was tough. We got smoked 6-0 and I was -3. The other team had a couple speedy walk-ons.

Orienteering 4:00:00 [2]

Control Picking at Letchworth for next years A-meet. Saw some things I liked and saw some things that I didn't. However, plenty of time to rearrange and focus on the good stuff.

Hockey 1:15:00 [4]

Fell on my right side and at least bruised a rib. End of a very long day.

Got home and had some of the worst cramps (groin) in my life. When I went to stretch one muscle group something on the opposite site started to cramp. Took a good 10 minutes and plenty of pain to work things out.

Ultimate 30:00 [3]

Wasn't really expecting to play, but it started late and I got back from Letchworth in time

Hockey 1:30:00 [5]

Better this week with 4 defensemen. However there were no drills this week and it was all scrimmage time. Pretty wiped out toward the end. Scored my first goal in intermediate.

Mendon Night-O. Chose a counterclockwise route - which was opposite to where the crowds went. My plan was to follow the relatively straight line of controls due south along the pond/road to get to the two pointers at the south end of the course. Skipped #4 and #14 at the south end, but got the 2 pointers. Floundered a bit at #30, and then even more at #6. After #29 I started to worry about the time. Got #26 (last 2-pointer) then got hung up in the bad vegetation around #3. In hindsight I could have grabbed #19 along the road, but fortunately it did not impact my 3rd place finish. (I would have tied on points, but finished after the second place finisher).

The reflection of the eyes of the deer actually threw me off around #27 - thinking it was a control reflector (the permanent control reflector in that area confused me as well).

Great turnout and a nice overall event.
