Running 1:22:48 [3] 9.4 mi (8:49 / mi)
shoes: PI Synchro Seek Trail

New loop - there was meant to be more trail running than I actually got, because I couldn't find one of the trail heads. So the run turned into about 10%trail, 70% gravel path and 20% road. From home, worked my way to the trolley trail and went all the way to Egypt (about 4 miles). Meant to pick up the Crescent Trail right on the other side of Mason Road, but missed it and wound up having to go into a subdivision to pick it up further along. Came out on Aldrich and since I didn't have quite enough energy I went directly to the Canal Path via Lyndon rather than go through White Brook Park to get to the canal

Overall, I felt OK for one of my longer training runs. We will see how I feel tomorrow.

Trail Running 1:03:00 [3] 6.0 mi (10:30 / mi)
shoes: PI Synchro Seek Trail

Fish Creek to Rollins Pond trail -campground to campground. Wisely took water with me this time. Only saw 4 people on the trail. Time was 6 minutes slower than last year but the same time as two years ago.

Canoeing 1:00:00 [2] 6.0 mi (10:00 / mi)

Rollins Pond/Floodwood/Fish Creek loop with a decent portage. The kids didn't help much with the paddling.

Hiking 1:00:00 [2] 4.5 mi (13:20 / mi)

Catamount Mountain - a relatively leisurely pace with the kids. Hike was quite steep in places with some bare rock scrambles. Actual time was quite a bit longer.

Orienteering (Sprint) 16:39 [4] *** 2.75 km (6:03 / km)
spiked:10/10c shoes: Mudclaw O+340

BFLO Sprint Emery Park - it is always worth the trip for the Buffalo meets. And it was good to visit this park as the sprint for the BFLO A-meet next year will be held here. There were plenty of features to navigate with so on a macro level the navigation was pretty easy, but the flags were most at decent sized buildings so reading the clue and going around the right side was important. Got lucky on #10 and saw someone headed to the flag just inside the doorway.

Orienteering (Score-O) 57:47 [4] *** 7.63 km (7:34 / km)
spiked:14/17c shoes: Mudclaw O+340

BFLO - ScoreO at Emery Park. The controls were set out in two fairly obvious loops (one north of the road, and one south), but with enough outliers to make the decision making more interesting. I went north first and didn't have any problems until coming back from #40, the northenmost control. I drifted too far east and crossed the creek in a different location than I intended. The result was that I didn't quite believe where I was when looking for #87 and had a bit of wandering around. Then once on the south side of the main road I headed for #75 first. Didn't have many difficulties until #74 when I realized the road that makes up the southern boundary of the park looked like a good route choice. I attacked #76 from the road, crossed a fence, then realized it may have been uncrossable, and completely lost my focus. I overshot #76 and lost about a minute working my way back and looking for the pit. Used the road again to #79 and finished up with #80 and then #78.

Nate beat me on both the sprint and the Score-O.

Distance is not straight line and is from the GPS

Rec Center Class - last one of the session. Hope to sign up for the next one, but the weekends in the fall are looking busy (with O of course!)

Running 29:44 [3] 3.6 mi (8:16 / mi)
shoes: PI - SyncroFloat

Church to Cobbs Lane to Perinton Park via towpath. I can't remember the last time I had something even close to a training run and I certainly felt it. I could list plenty of excuses, but the bottom line is that I have gotten lazy and have fallen out of shape over the last 6 months.

Oh yeah, I forgot to add that Kameron goaded me into signing up for the 1/2 marathon in mid-Sept. I really need to focus on making time to train. Hoefully, I can get back on the horse....
