Trail Running race 52:13 [5] 10.0 km (5:13 / km)
shoes: Mudclaw O+340

Mendon Trail Run - ROC Organized event. My main goal was to improve upon my time from last year - which I was able to do - on the order of just under 3 minutes. I think I pushed myself a bit harder this time around. I had to walk a couple of the steepest uphills, and battled some minor cramping around 5km, but I was also able to settle in behind Gil at about the same time so that helped (although it was a bit discouraging that it was his 20km pace!). Kameron improved her time as well and was the 4th female finisher. Anyway, it was a great race and made even better this year with the addition of timing chips. Kameron invited some of her 'triathlete' friends, so it was a nice gathering. I am not sure about the turnout but it looked to be larger than last year.

Running 28:50 [3] 3.7 mi (7:48 / mi)
shoes: PI - SyncroFloat

Turk Hill - Perinton Park loop - was hard to find time to run but wanted to keep my 'streak' alive. This is the 5th day in a row with a moderate workout (no lunchtime walks included) in at least the last 6 months. This was the first time running in a while with more than shorts and a single layer on top.

Orienteering race 33:43 [4] 4.24 km (7:57 / km)
spiked:10/13c shoes: Mudclaw O+340

ROC Oatka Creek - Orange - Nice day for a meet, (maybe a bit cold) and outstanding turnout. Ran pretty clean with a couple minor hiccups. Goldenrod was pretty rough on the legs and I turned my ankle once enough that it bothered me through the entire course.

Orienteering 16:00 [2] *** 1.4 km (11:26 / km)
shoes: PI - SyncroFloat

ROC Oatka - White - easy run with the kids as they ran the white course. This was actually a sustained effort and the kids were able to keep a running pace the entire time. Tyler is getting a bit more interested in the sport and showing signs of improvement. He is starting to look at the vegetation changes and does pretty good with the navigation as long as I orient the map north for him at each control.
