Orienteering (Sprint) 16:39 [4] *** 2.75 km (6:03 / km)
spiked:10/10c shoes: Mudclaw O+340

BFLO Sprint Emery Park - it is always worth the trip for the Buffalo meets. And it was good to visit this park as the sprint for the BFLO A-meet next year will be held here. There were plenty of features to navigate with so on a macro level the navigation was pretty easy, but the flags were most at decent sized buildings so reading the clue and going around the right side was important. Got lucky on #10 and saw someone headed to the flag just inside the doorway.

Orienteering (Score-O) 57:47 [4] *** 7.63 km (7:34 / km)
spiked:14/17c shoes: Mudclaw O+340

BFLO - ScoreO at Emery Park. The controls were set out in two fairly obvious loops (one north of the road, and one south), but with enough outliers to make the decision making more interesting. I went north first and didn't have any problems until coming back from #40, the northenmost control. I drifted too far east and crossed the creek in a different location than I intended. The result was that I didn't quite believe where I was when looking for #87 and had a bit of wandering around. Then once on the south side of the main road I headed for #75 first. Didn't have many difficulties until #74 when I realized the road that makes up the southern boundary of the park looked like a good route choice. I attacked #76 from the road, crossed a fence, then realized it may have been uncrossable, and completely lost my focus. I overshot #76 and lost about a minute working my way back and looking for the pit. Used the road again to #79 and finished up with #80 and then #78.

Nate beat me on both the sprint and the Score-O.

Cobbs Lane - Towpath - Perinton Park. New shoes felt OK, but are not quite as light as the last pair.
