Was really more like 2 hours, but it was pretty low key. We had the ice for a scout sleepover from 7:30 till 11. With the new rink size we were able to break out an area for beginners and also play some cross-ice hockey. Tyler plays pretty well for someone who has not played any organized hockey, but he was clearly frustrated with the more experienced kids buzzing around.
So after an earlier WOD this week with a front squat I thought I could manage a similar weight on an overhead squat. Silly me. After prepping for the workout at 110# the trainer had me back down to 45#. The higher weight was not the problem, but my shoulder flexibility kept me from getting it balanced over my head properly. So, with the 45# weight for all of the exercises it was not too hard of a workout.
Killer workout. The gym lets the members design a workout on their b-day and today was Kameron's turn.
37 min AMRAP of
1000 m row
30 push presses 75#
19 toes to bar
75 jump ropes
The reps were significant in that they are all related to her age/bithdate. Kameron did it this morning and made it just over 5 rounds and I almost made it to 4 rounds this evening.
The most significant things for me was being able to physically handle crossfit two days in a row (and with hockey in there to boot).
Just finished 5 rounds - and I really had to push in the last 2 minutes to get there. The Rx weight was 95 for men, but I was just not there. The 75# was an improvement of the last WOD I had with thrusters.
