Day 2 of NSW Champs - Long. Running up again into M20, a 9km course.

Started off pretty well and navigated perfectly to the first control while getting into the 1:15000 scale. Then spend too long looking for number 2 and got completely lost, and gave up and continued to number 3. In all honestly, I should have probably spent a bit more time trying to find it, but it was a long course and I didn't want to be out there forever! Went OK after that, with one other bad route choice which wasted about a minute, but ended up going WAY over 9km :).

First day of NSW Champs - Middle Distance. Ran up a class (M20A) for a pit of practice, since the competition isn't too important for me.

Was having a pretty decent run until number 4, where I went up the wrong side of the gully when it split, so lost about a minute. Then, being frustrated tried to catch up on the next control, and ended up doing a 180 and losing another 2 minutes. Clean run after that, but was considerably slower for the next 5 or 6 controls as I was having trouble moving through the vegetation. Overall, all right run, but could have shaved off at least 5 minutes if I had been navigating and running properly.

On the way up, probably pushed a bit too hard at the hill intervals place, which meant I was slow for the next km. Also a bit slow up the hill, but still managed to get just under 5 min/km for the run as a whole, so I don't feel too bad about it :)

Was I bit stiff when I woke up so took a little longer to warm up on the run. My heart rate also took almost a km to speed up above 160 which means my watch was beeping annoyingly until then :)

Time to start training for Oz Champs :)

I'm not very good at hills, so it was tough. It went OK but I felt myself tiring after each of the of the intervals. Next time I'll try to shorten the time between each interval.
