Day One: Duo sea kayaking with Ats, Genevieve and Serge. We paddled in the afternoon from Stockholm's archipelago (26000 islands) from Norråva, past islands of Kalvön, Puttisholmen, Ångsholmen and several smaller islands until camp on Sollenkroka Ö. It was quite a challenge in navigation (reading the map and using the compass) with so many islands, which all looked the same from the perspective of a kayak. Plus the strong winds from the northwest with high surfs pushed our kayaks quickly southeast. We arrived at what we thought was a empty island.

As soon as we landed, we opened up the cheese and wine to enjoy the magnificant sunset. Unbelievably peaceful. Eventually set up tents and prepared dinner. Serge and I (both navigators) were retracing our route to determine our exact location. Apparently, a GPS is highly recommended in the archipelago with so many islands. We were out of luck because we could only guess our location. No worries as we would surely see some sailboats the next day. After finishing off a nice meal and 3 bottles of wine while enjoying the views, we went to bed. It was a chilly and windy night in camp, but we all managed to stay warm. A good day of paddling was had by all.
