Note
(injured)

Left hip was very sore yesterday afternoon/evening after the run/trek. It was hard to sleep with it but it had improved slightly by morning. I can still feel it though even when I'm walking. Recurrence of the same injury I had in 2014. It's so frustrating because I've been managing it so well all year. Emergency trip to the PT tomorrow afternoon. Fingers crossed he can work his magic because I do not need this right now!!!!

Hip was sore after 10 minutes running so I decided to do 10min run/5 min walk for the duration. Hip improved slightly. I had an ice bath after but I don't think it helped much #unnecessarysuffering

I was having a little competition with myself to see if I could swim faster without the pull bout than with it. Finally managed it on the 400's but I think that was more down to fatigue than my wonderful body position!!!!

Kayak 2:50:00 [3] 17.0 km (6.0 kph)

Excellent kayak with Peter this evening on the river Blackwater. We were sharing the river with lots of boat crews (a single, a double, a 4 and an 8) in Fermoy and a good few fishermen upstream. The first 8.5k was upstream and there was at least
6 times where we had to get out of the boat and drag it up over the Rapids. I think it was the 4th one where we tried to paddle around to the side of the rapid but we got caught by a very strong current. Peter just managed to utter in his deadpan voice "I think we're in trouble here" before the boat was flung against a massive tree root and capsized! It was very funny. Thankfully we kept hold of the boat and the paddles as we were swept downstream. Eventually Peter was able to turn the boat and he paddled it to the side while I swam after it. We walked it up the next time. There was a man fly fishing who had a front row seat for the action and he was joking with us as we passed that we had a tough hobby. If only he knew!! I'm not 100% sure of the time it took us to get to the 8.5k mark but I know it took 55 minutes to do the return leg which gives some idea of how strong the current was!
