Spent the day in Orlinda, TN. Pam was allowed in to see her Mom.

Reconnaisance at Bert Adams. Checking Rick's map updates and getting the final few updates needed for the meet next week. The more time I spend in the lowland and other area west of the power line the more I like it. Kind of similar to the flood plain at Chattahoochee Bend, open, fast and very different feeling from most of our areas. The logged area is also totally different. It's a real psychological shock when you first get there. I doubt anyone (maybe Cheatum) has actually orienteered in a logged area before. Should be interesting to hear the comments. Wishing I had put more controls there.

Ran Red course controls 2 - 8. Still recovering from the vaccination hangover so I didn't feel great running. But it was fun and interesting none the less. Based on my time for the first half, the results should be fast for this course.

Still feeling miserable. Slightly better than yesterday, but still headache, body ache and tiredness. Better as the day went on, but still slight headache and sinus pressure at the end of the day.

Dang, this second COVID vaccination made a mess out of me. Slight headache, sinus pressure, body ache and complete tireness. Didn't do anything but sleep all day.

Received my second COVID vaccination this morning. First shot was fine, no after effects except a sore spot on my arm for a day or two. Hope the second is just as minimal.

Really good run at Hard Labor Creek. Rather cold, damp and drizzlily at the start. Difficult to get motivated. Rain from controls 6 - 11. Made it hard to read the map in a very difficult section of the map. Especially disappointing because control 8 was in an area I've never been to before. Tried to use some map memorization skills, so maybe a worthwhile forced exercise! Was wore out by the end but the running did hold up pretty well.

Picking up seven controls. It was an unexpectly nice walk in the woods. Weather actually got a little warmer.
