Orienteering 48:40 [3] 4.9 mi (9:56 / mi)

Red course at Bear Creek, 7.2km straight-line. Friday my illness hit me hard and I stayed home. Can't remember the last time I cancelled class for illness, but it was the best move. Saturday morning I was still dead tired, but at least I didn't feel sick. I was stir crazy and knew if I didn't go orienteering, I would be very unhappy later. The illness slowed me down a bit and I didn't push it too hard, but time wise, I didn't seem to be that slow. Ran well over all and orienteered well. I recall not liking this map in the past because of mapping issues, either those issues were really because I didn't read the map well, or there has been updates, or the course was set as to avoid poorly mapped areas. At any rate, any issues with map reading only added up to a few seconds here and there. It was certainly fun and helped my recovery. My only complaint is that at a few controls, the control circle on the map wasn't cut to show a few key features close to the control, but this is typical for "local meets".

Trail Run 33:00 [1] 3.5 mi (9:26 / mi)

Because of my illness, just ran easy around the park during the workout.

Hike 15:00 [1] 0.6 mi (24:59 / mi)

Hiked around the upper loop, did some map corrections to my two-bit o-map of the park.

Hike 45:00 [1]

Got a sore throat yesterday, continued through today, wasn't feeling the best today either. I've been sick a lot lately, not sure why. It puts a damper on training for sure. At least none of illnesses have been very bad. I should be good tomorrow.

Road Run 42:00 [1] 4.9 mi (8:34 / mi)

Legs ached a bit from atrophy I think. The nasty little storm today started to die down in the evening, so got out to run, but it was still cold, windy, and snowy. No major accumulation though. Right ham bugged me a bit from the get go. Went around campus, kept the pace quick to keep warm, started to slow towards end.
