Trail Run 5:00 [1]

warmup

Orienteering 51:00 [3] 4.72 mi (10:48 / mi)

O-race at Manitou Lake, 6.9km straighline. Traffic was a nightmare getting there so arrived about an hour later than wanted. Just barely got ready by the end of the start window. In retrospect, LA started about 20+min after me, so not sure why I was worried that they would actually shut down the start before allowing me to start... Anyway, in my hast to get going I neglected to get a clue sheet and was sloppy off the start. Saw the straight line to #1 went through a fenced in area and assumed it was the weather station (which was only a man-made X on the map). This took me way off course, fortunately I correctly easily, but it lost time for sure. The only other issues were #9, where I thought I had one more re-enterant to go, but I looked to my left and saw a control on a feature that was similar to the one I was looking for I figured I'd better go check it out. So a lucky catch there. Also on #12 there's a lot more green in there then on the map and I wasn't sure if I was above the control for sure. Saw the water jugs before the flag, which was also a lucky catch. On the finish control, I ended up a bit NW of the finish, I figured it was because I just didn't keep the line and got pushed north, but LA pointed out that it was in the wrong place on the map. Other than that, a good run, but the map should have some minor updates done to it. I've always liked this map because of the contour detail and lack of severe climbs.

Road Run 50:00 [1] 5.27 mi (9:29 / mi)

Yesterday I was dizzy and generally didn't feel well. Probably working too hard. Unfortunate to have too miss running, but it was for the best. Was nearly 100% today. Easy run around campus, it was warm.

Note

Triax (1.0) poles came in. There good, better than the CT1's, but not as good as the Madshus. Luckily I got them cheaper than the Madshus. Who cares about skating anyway.

Exer-Genie 30:00 [2]

Finished Vancouver 50km. 4, 5, 6, 7, 7lbs.

Roller Ski Classic 51:00 [1] 7.48 mi (6:49 / mi)

Roller Ski Poles Only 17:00 [2] 2.38 mi (7:09 / mi)

5x up 21st Ave double pole. Poles were getting dull for sure, difficult to pole at end. The good news is that the Triax are on the way, so I can cut those god-awful CT1's down for rollerski-classic poles. Just need to find some time to get to the hive of pretension and arrogance and get some roller ferrules. Tendon in left are felt tweaked towards end. 3:24 on the fastest (first, third, and last). 3:27 was the slowest (second).

Cyclo-X 54:00 [1] 14.61 mi (3:42 / mi)

Reservoir to 28th to 4th, to 23rd. Then F st to Sheep's draw connector to see if any concrete had been laid, nope... Back up the bike trail that goes to 43rd, then 16th to 23rd. Was really tired by work, so quite sluggish until about 33min in, then popped some hard sections in, reaching over 30 mph in one slight down hill and tail wind section.

Note

Completed Fritzer's corn maze map.
