Road Run 35:00 [1] 3.6 mi (9:43 / mi)
ahr:125

Just started to rain on the run, not convinced that Greeley is going to get hit that hard.

Had a hankering to check out the Learning Center, so parked at red barn, rode there, then over to the learning center, rode for a while, then a bit more at red barn.

Trail Run 23:00 [4] 3.63 mi (6:20 / mi)
ahr:168 max:186

Running club at J. Jones. Good weather, heel was just a touch stiff. 8, 6, 4, 3, 2 min. Max HRs on each was 179-186, so I was pretty much maxed out, clearly I'm not very fit given the paces I was running: 6:41, 23, 13, 17, 5:43.

Cyclo-X 1:04:00 [1] 16.07 mi (3:59 / mi)
ahr:118

Right calf still so sore it requires a limp to get around, so biking is only option. Out to east end of Poudre trail, back on Sheeps Draw and 20th. Took the X-bike as it didn't need air in the tires.

Cyclo-X 1:00:00 [1] 12.87 mi (4:40 / mi)
ahr:117

Forced myself out the door after leading an exhausting, but productive, fieldtrip. I was paying the piper as after a super fun day of orienteering, my lack of fitness, in particular, not using my right calf due to the heel problem for the past 5 months or so, caught up to me and I could barely walk due to soreness. Rode out to J-Jones, ripped some laps for a half hour, and returned just before dark and it getting too cold.

Orienteering 1:01:06 [4] 6.29 mi (9:43 / mi)
ahr:170 max:181

Chatfield, red course, 8.3 km straightline. Physically things went well, though certainly I didn't have much speed. The heel did not give even a touch of bother until the last couple of controls, and it didn't feel like much then either, so generally I didn't think about it. My right big toe had been bugging me for a past couple of days because I think I crammed it too tightly into my yellow O-shoes the other day, so I went with the other ones, which worked well, but they were a bit soft and slid on my feet due to the heel cups. In the last stretch I did twist my right angle a bit, but I don't think its going to amount to any major problem. Orienteering wise, I did well too. There were a few details I could have done better, but no complaints really. I did piss off one fisherman, I was half way across the river when he started calling me inconsiderate and profanities. Then I noticed him and gave him a nod because it wasn't clear what his deal was. I didn't see a rod, so the whole thing was kinda confusing to me but I'm only guessing that he was scoping out the pool I just ran through. Not that I had a whole lot of ability to figure out the situation. He didn't let up as I ran away and I yelled back that I was racing, which seemed to piss him off more. The good news is that route put me way ahead of JP, I had seen him exiting the last control, and post race he said I was ahead of him at the next one, so it was a good route choice apparently.
