Roller Ski Classic 45:00 [1] 5.76 mi (7:49 / mi)
ahr:123

I experimented with putting rubber feet on the roller ski poles with duct tape. BNS didn't have any real suggestions. Then drove to the PLC to try out the modified poles on the concrete bike trail. They didn't really work, the plant was fine, but they would just slip after the initial plant. Removed the rubber, and regular tips worked OK on the concrete, but it's so harsh that its not really practical. Finished the ski by doing River road. Didn't feel that great, didn't sleep well and was tired from yesterday.

Trail Run 24:07 [4] 3.95 mi (6:06 / mi)
ahr:178 max:187

Running club. 4x6min, 3 rest, up the switch backs. Hardworkout, not sure how fast I was, but managed to really rip the last one (comparatively). Paces were 6:11, 07, 07, 01.
Note, this was on average, a workout on par (overall average) with the last time we did this one, probably should have been faster, but at least I wasn't slower.
2nd note, I found this workout from last year, the two time we did it I was pretty much exactly the same both times and 10sec per mile faster pace on average. So I am slower this year.

Road Bike 50:00 [1] 13.06 mi (3:50 / mi)
ahr:122

Tested out the thru axle adapter for the new bike rack, it works. Took the road bike out to the PLC via the bike rack w/ adapter. Rode west from there to Kodak and back. On the way out almost ran into a roller skier who was on the outside of a tight blind turn, so I had to drift to the outside and was surprised by the skier, but a collision was not even close. Figured he was doing an out/back in the opposite way I was going, so I was looking forward to asking him how he gets his poles to stick into the concrete, on top of just being fascinated that there was another roller skier north of Boulder. I was right and saw him on the return and stopped and asked how he gets his poles to stick in, he said they don't, he had pads on them. He was clearly not interested in chatting so as he skied away I saw he had little rubber ends on the poles. I will look into if such a thing exists or was something he made.
