Mt. Bike 41:00 [1] 9.02 mi (4:33 / mi)
ahr:126

To/from J.Jones.

Trail Run 35:00 [1] 3.14 mi (11:09 / mi)
ahr:129

At J.Jones of course, with backpack. Nice day. No knee issues, because of this, I will try to run an hour total at running club this week. Decent first complete week of training. Soon I'll be able to start making a cake. I did think about going to the O-training today, but I didn't want to push things with my knee and I wasn't super excited about the drive. I've really been fond of just rattling around the house recently. The driving during ski season wears one down. Besides, driving to Fo-Co and dealing with the throngs of outdoorsy hipsters there is an experience.

Roller Ski Classic 1:01:00 [1] 8.59 mi (7:06 / mi)
ahr:130

Had to drop some more cash at REI, so did a roller ski along the fossil creek trail as roller skis fit in cars easier than bikes, and I haven't got the bikes ready for the summer yet. Used the poles with the nordic trekking tips. I think the knee has been doing better, so may try a run tomorrow.

Roller ski skate 1:00:00 [1] 10.19 mi (5:53 / mi)
ahr:142

At east end of Poudre trail. I put on brand new tips on the triac's to see how they worked compared to the trekking pole tips. They give relatively good grip on concrete, slipping maybe 30% of the time. The sound is annoying for sure. The trekking pole tips slip more, but they behave predictably and are quiet and smooth. Not sure which is better. It appears more unlikely I can get my hands on some X-Curve poles, no response from "the source," and perhaps they are no longer made. Also, "Andy" from Nordic Team Solutions didn't have much useful info for me. I'm tracking down an aluminum welder, maybe I can make my own. 30 minutes of the ski was on concrete with the triacs and the tips were noticeably duller, probably can get maybe 3 skis max before major sharpening is needed.

Road Run 26:05 [2] 3.0 mi (8:42 / mi)
ahr:150

First running club of the year for me. On the track. 3x1 mile. I took it easy as I was worried about knee pain. None at all, which is really pleasing. I'll see how it is tomorrow. Definitely out of shape as my HR was really high for running so slow. Times were 8:37, 8:45, 8:43. I think garmin has improved their GPS algorithm as the distance was essentially spot-on.
