Roller Ski Classic 17:00 [1] 2.24 mi (7:35 / mi)
ahr:122

An ill fated roller ski. Headed west from the PLC, went up the first bridge, reminded myself not to be lazy and to "set the wax," started the decent on the other side of the bridge and heard a loud crack and almost face planted when my right ski was strangely no longer rolling but grinding along the concrete. Yup, my now vintage V2 roller skis from ca. 1990 went on their last roller ski today.

Decided the best way back was to push with the one foot and glide on the one good ski. Bad ski was tucked in my water bottle pack waist band. It was actually really hard to glide for very long on one ski, had to switch glide legs every few minutes.

After dinner I was lucky to have found a window of time after a thunderstorm and before the next one. Went west from the PLC again, made it to Kodak, including the access road. Ran out of light, plus the lightening was starting up as I was getting back. As I drove out of the parking lot, the rain started.

Road Bike 2:25:00 [1] 37.65 mi (3:51 / mi)
ahr:125

I felt strong today, could push the pace pretty well the whole ride, started to tire in the last 40 minutes, but still could keep a decent pace. Went out new way, west on trail to the garden at the west end of Windsor, then back on the trail to Island Grove. It was suppose to be very hot today, but clouds came in and so it was only hot - mid-80sF.

Ran at Redbarn. It wasn't nearly as hot as predicted as clouds moved in and outflow from a thunderstorm made it windy. Legs felt like lead, I think Wednesday was a really hard workout.

To Island Grove, Sheeps Draw, 'burbs west of the new KS, back on 34 trail. It was hot, upper 90sF when I started, it was about 90 when I was done, which felt cool. They're getting close to finishing the new segment on the Sheeps Draw trail, I think they just need to finish the 71st ave underpass and it will be done. Probably will get maybe two more miles.

Running club, we moved to J-Jones. It was hotter than I thought it would be, but I managed, but it did affect me slightly. 4x6min going up the hill. It was a really hard workout. The crushed stone in combination with the hill really took it out of me. Despite this I managed to keep the pace pretty consistent, but I did fad on the last one. Paces were 6:13, 14, 13, 18. All in all, given how much harder the course was, I was pretty happy with pace I was able to manage.

Parked at 25th along the Poudre trail as there was concern that the access to island grove was not yet open after the stampede, went both east and west from there. Hot, but not quite unbearable.
