Classic Ski 2:34:00 [1] 13.27 mi (11:36 / mi)
ahr:134

Inches of snow last night and temps in the lower teens made the ski pretty slow. They had rolled a bit when I got there and most things were rolled by the end. Nothing beyond that. Skied into 3rd@Birkie, hadn't seen her in quite sometime. Skied with her for an hours, she was getting over an illness so wasn't up for much. I was tired from yesterday and started to get hungry at the end.

Classic Ski 3:05:00 [3] 25.33 mi (7:18 / mi)

Got up at 5:15 to see if driving to Frisco was worth it, the road was open, but was slow moving and avalanche danger was high (but not extreme), I70 might get closed at any time because of mitigation or because of an avalanche, CDOT website was down so it was difficult to get any hard details. Decided to go back to bed and sleep in and go to the Jack instead for a long workout. 40km time trial. Its wasn't the best conditions, super greasy at the start (temp in the upper 30sF at least), managed to get just a bit of kick with VR50. Course was upper, Moose, the flat after Moose, turned around, Gobi, Ridge, Rollercoaster, Roundabout, Ridge, Black Jack, Campground Hill, back to the start of upper. It was just about exactly 10km. Start to die on the 4th lap, arms got tired. It seemed to be a good workout.

Note

I70 was closed, it was possible to get to Idaho Springs via Rt 6 and Central City, but it would be at least 3 hours. Frisco Gold Rush might be the second race I couldn't do this year because of road closure.
