Roller Ski Classic 2:00:00 [1] 16.69 mi (7:11 / mi)
ahr:122

Legs were completely shot today. Have to hobble to walk given how sore the shins and calves are. Much worse than yesterday. So a roller ski that is all DP is pretty much the only option. Went from redbarn, out to Island Grove, and went up sheeps draw to get the two hours. The big pond by Island Grove was packed with geese, perhaps thousands of them?

Hike 1:04:00 [1] 3.95 mi (16:12 / mi)

From Soderberg, up the tower road, down the spring creek trail to the best tree in the Front Range and beyond, then back that way. This entry is the hike of the downhill sections where poles were not used. Shins and calves were really sore and it was difficult to descend. Prorated time by about 10 minutes.

Hike w/ poles 55:00 [2] 3.04 mi (18:06 / mi)
ahr:128

Uphill section with poles, AHR is an underestimate as the HRM wasn't always working the best.

Road Run 14:00 [1] 1.27 mi (11:01 / mi)
ahr:120

Warmup

Road Run 1:00 [3] 0.22 mi (4:33 / mi)

Four sprints just to see what speed feels like.

Road Run 17:54 [4] 3.1 mi (5:46 / mi)
ahr:183 max:190

VTTTT (virtual turkey trot time trial). I didn't know what to expect because I haven't done intervals in so long, and my training in general has been lacking. But the course is fast, that I knew - down sheeps draw. Off the start it felt good and I actually had to back it off a bit because about a minute in the pace was 5:20's, which I knew was unsustainable, even down hill. First mile was 5:30, which I worried was too quick, but I figured I just relax a bit, but not too much, and see how long I could hold it. Second mile was 5:50 (11:20 cumulative) and it easily the most difficult with the climb by the new housing development, but based on time, I guess I didn't relax at all. It was a struggle, but I felt I had another mile in me if I held pace. Last mile was 5:54 (17:14 cumulative), so I did start to die, but with a total time being sub 18 minutes, I was pretty happy. I'm going to be sore tomorrow.

Road Run 28:00 [2] 2.85 mi (9:49 / mi)
ahr:145

Had to walk a bit to get things together, then ran back to the car.

Legs started to die at the end. Watched Women's spring from Vancouver Olympics.

Mt. Bike 1:32:00 [1] 16.22 mi (5:40 / mi)
ahr:124

Out to J-Jones for a bunch of laps. More people out walking that I had anticipated, but I did a good job of avoiding them, which makes the ride more interesting. Had to tack some one at the end around Alles Dr. etc. to get the 1.5 hours. I felt weary, so I think the increase in training has something to do with that.

Roller Ski Classic 1:34:00 [1] 13.47 mi (6:59 / mi)

From Funplex, explored the suburbs along 20th street to add some more distance. Got the classic "Don't fall, there's no snow!" line from a women putting up Christmas lights.

Watched the men's team sprint from Vancouver Olympics. It was a race I'd never seen and I didn't really know who won. My bet was on Norway as it was before Northug got too full of himself and lost focus.

Road Run 21:00 [1] 2.0 mi (10:30 / mi)
ahr:120

Starting the turkey week mini-camp. Ran to campus and back to pick up some Bruntons.

Trail Run 1:11:00 [1] 6.59 mi (10:46 / mi)
ahr:130

Redbarn to new trail etc. Still some patches of snow left over from last night. The raft of turkeys was taking advantage of the feeder at that house by the water pipe.

Bike Trainer 28:00 [1]
ahr:117

Setup the bike trainer today. Bigger and better monitor this year. Also, the way I have the head phones, there's no delay now. Now I just have to wait for the WC to start.
