Drive up was dicey. Starting around the Plains of Despair map the road got really slick. I was concerned it might, but I'd rather drive HJ road instead of the interstate when this happens. I slowed to a reasonable speed but I could see some knuckle head recently had driven off the road and over road markers but would drive right back on, this was done at least 3 times as far as I could tell. By Bisbee Hill (which I've never run on..) the car I suspect was the knuckle head, was kinda half off the road where there's pull-offs on both sides, it was some kind of muscle car with bald tires. But also backed up at this spot was three semis that were basically stuck because they couldn't get going once stopped on slick road. Plus there was a pickup pulling a camper that looked like they were just finishing putting on chains. All were traveling towards Laramie, so that lane was completely corked up. A pickup with a snowmobile in the bed behind me just pulled into the oncoming lane and drove around what was maybe three hundred feet of blockage. I didn't see another option than to do what the pickup did, unless I wanted to just sit there for an unknown amount of time before three semis, which showed no ability to even move, could get out of the way. I did scope out the far side in the sage brush as my way out if an oncoming car appeared. Of course one did and I had to drive into the sage, but I got around it, but it wasn't fun. Anyway, the ski was fine, I had to drink and eat food to keep from bonking, foot barely gave me any trouble. Still no tracks, I'm sick of skiing without tracks. There was some sort of college race, a sprint I think. There's other "on your own" races I could do, but I'm just not motivated for that.
