Trail Run 2:07:00 [2] 10.45 mi (12:09 / mi)
ahr:138 max:168

Pretty brutal run. From Eltuck, Valley trail to Timber trail, Westridge, Howard, Arthur's Rock, Timber trail, finished up down Well Gulch. The plan was 12 min/mile average pace, but some of the descents were tricky enough that I had to go slower than 12 min/mile pace. Also, Westridge and Howard had some really big climbs that I had forgotten about - I can't remember the last time I ran these, perhaps 10 years ago? It was certainly on the warm side, but I started early enough and I was in the trees most of the time, so it was manageable. Its been quite a while since doing such a long and hard run, many long uphills had HR in the 150s for the entire climb. Afterwards I cheated on my diet and had pumpkin french toast. Over 2300 feet of climb.

Road Bike 1:53:00 [1] 28.25 mi (4:00 / mi)

Parked at PLC, headed west to the end of the trail and back. Felt pretty good, but I started to bonk at 1:30 and had to eat a Clif bar. Warm, but not hot because I got out the door early enough. Lots of construction here and there along the trail. Some for oil/gas development, some for new houses, some for creating more bike trail. I'm only interested in the latter, not excited about the other two, but that's the way it goes.

Road Bike 1:11:00 [1] 17.19 mi (4:08 / mi)

Parked at the Funplex, rode out to the closure, out through the 'burbs, and back. Nice day, not too hot. Hopefully my back will be ready for roller skiing.

Hike 1:20:00 [1] 3.59 mi (22:17 / mi)

Geologic fieldwork at Lory - in and around Well Gulch. I could almost call it orienteering, I had a map and airphoto with with locations marked that I had to find and check out. I knew that half of them were on some very steep slopes up high, but I went to them just the same. A quick look at the GPS log revealed that I pretty much nailed all the locations. Given the steep slopes, quite a challenging day, and it got really hot at the end. It was over 90F, by how much I don't know. Fortunately at least a gentle breeze was common. I was out there well over 6 hours, but my average moving pace was about 22min/miles, so I estimated workout duration on that.

Road Run 50:00 [1] 4.78 mi (10:28 / mi)

Road Run 23:37 [4] 4.0 mi (5:54 / mi)
ahr:169 max:191

Was out the door at 6:40am to beat the heat. After checking out Sandborn, decided to do intervals at Greeley west track. It was a good place but they are building a new school and the construction noise was annoying. I got through it with a pretty solid workout. 8x800m, times were all between 2:57 and 2:59, except the last were I went all out and ran 2:49. Did them in lane 6. Easy walk to the staggered start in between.

Wild Animal Sanctuary, to take an excessive number of photos. Hot towards the end. No carp.

Trail Run 32:00 [1] 3.08 mi (10:23 / mi)

Needed to do more, so went for a short run in the afternoon, it was 90F. Around Glenmere Pk.
