Summer Survival 8k race. 46.54
Happy with that time - conditions were flat so had to paddle hard the whole way. Through the whole race I had a decent mix of wash riding and towing people along behind me.
My start possibly could have been better - I positioned myself out wide which was a good spot proven by the fact I was surrounded by the big guns - but unfortunately that meant they moved off too fast for me to jump onto the back of, while people my pace were off too far to the left. Nethertheless its a long race so no point fretting about the start.
Felt my 2nd lap was better than my first - managed to close a gap to group in front of me (with no help from the boats riding my wash I might add!) , and after a slow squashy turn on the very first buoy I consistently jumped a few places every time we went around a buoy by taking the inside line.

Had a good finish as well - caught a nice little wave to launch me ahead of the group I was with then I struggled up the beach to the finish on my legs.

Now I have to start fretting about capital punishment in a few weeks time..
So while Zali was blasting some boys at a laser zone party I went to the waterworks and rode from the bottom up to neika and back. Felt every muscle that I used yesterday with clarabel.
