Orienteering 33:00 [3]

Orienteering Taroona - in a thunderstorm. Consequently I ran as fast as possible past the giant metal light post on taroona oval. Had to stay and get controls afterwards in the pouring rain. it was most unpleasant.

Orienteering 25:00 [3]

Running 45:00 [3]

secret orienteering rraining at risdon brook dam. Did a course on a mirrored map which was hilariously difficult. Then did regular sprintervals with the kids. After waiting a while for them at the end of the 2nd (of 5) set I suggested they downgrade themselves to the group behind me. They were both so insulted they lifted their game to such an exctent they beat me on the final set. hmmph.

Running 33:48 [3] 5.11 km (6:37 / km)

Quick run in a break in the rain and gusty winds. Trying to keep the run-every-day-or-commute-double-ride-until-easter dream alive.

of course I"m unofficial anyway at easter. :)

Running 1:10:00 [3]

Approximate running time for 3 training exercises:

Sprintervals on Pomina Reserve - steep!

Regular race at The Domain

Very exhausted afterwards - can only imagine how everyone else must have felt after 3 days of it!

Running 35:00 [3]

run around adealide city parks- didn't start well with heaps of cyclone fencing out for the adelaide fringe, but finished nicely along torens and then through the mall.

jog-hiking 3:45:00 [3] 20.0 km (11:15 / km)

got up early (which was easy as my airmattress had a slow leak and by morning I was just lying on the ground) and did the longer Mt Rufus Loop. Super fun and lovely. I walked the uphills and the rough stuff, jogged the rest.

Orienteering 15:49 [3]

Orienteering race from Domain Athletics centre. It was supposed to be a joint venture with Tasmanian Athletics so it started and finished in the middle of the track at the start of a track & field meet with the aim of getting the athletes to have a go.

Then the plan was that the orienteers would run the invitational mile held later in the evening. In the end there were 9 orienteers running the mile and only 2 proper athletes .

The Mile race resulted in a state record being set. Needless to say it was not set by me. unless there is some category for 'untrained elderly lady who never runs on a track', in which case I am state champion. Zali and Jett ran too - Jett ran past me with about 20 metres to go, and Zali finished just after me. It was very painful but I'm glad I did it.

I think the orienteers put in a better showing than the athletes - 40 orienteers did the course, then we outnumbered the athletes in the mile race, while only about 6 athletes did the orienteering.
