Had a good run today on 4.3 course. yay. nice way to end the weekend. Only of course it wasn't the end - still had to pack eveyrthing up before we left. yawn

Orienteering 20:00 [3]

went out to tape a route for kids which crossed a creek. The creek was pretty narrow but not everyone could have jumped across it like my gazelle like self. Put some branches across it and tested it out. It seemed ok until I slid off the branches into the creek which I thought was a foot or so deep. Turned out it went up to my chest. bugger. also it was -3 degrees in the air and worse in the water. Repeated above once more before deciding to find a better place to cross the creek.

Orienteering 45:00 [3]

Scoffed at rediculously short courses before the start then spent 45 minutes doing a 2.9 km course and let me tell you it wasn't the vegetation which was slowing me down. In fact i'd say I was moving reasonably well just all over the place. happily I wasn't hte only FOOL on the course and I finished comfortably 2/3 down the course 3 field

to make up for doing nothing yesterday (except about a zillion chores and cakes until midnight) I went for a 25 minute plod in the morning.
Surely this pain on my left shin can't be a stress fracture - after 2 runs!

bit of a broken up swim as was simulatneously doing laps and ensuring kids didn't drown. acheived both to some extent.

Braved the actual outdoors today and went for a run at Peter Murrell Reserve. Running felt fine considering it's only about my 5th in 4 weeks. longish loop.

warmup for weights really but I'm counting it. fit this gym session in after putting a cake in the oven at 10pm. Home by 11 in time to get it out. clever huh.

Having a gym close to home means my gym sessions aren't wedged into a one hour lunch hour which means I actually havce time to stretch, have a drink, check out some other stuff. Which is quite cool.

Did legs and some crunches. not very many cos of course I have abs of steel already and I didn't want to um.. move them.

Joined a gym on Saturday. It's probably the most basic incarnation of a gym that could be found - especially since it is brand new (for example its motto is "Expect nothing, and we'll meet your expectations!", or something like that. The selling feature for me was that it is cheap, and open 24 hours, and quite close by.


Running 2:00 [3]

Had the morning off work so thought I might just go for a 20 minute run. After 2 minutes I remembered why I had planned to rest my ankle all week so I turned around and headed to the gym instead.
