GYM - HIIT 10:00 [3]

Because it was raining (hard) I didn't ride, and did a Hiit session.

We did a new double kettle bell swing, as I was practising (in fact as I lifted them for the first time), my back want. AARGH!

I'm blaming it on the rain. And the stars. And a little bit on the boogie.

lovely cold morning, but sunny. Rode with Clare for the first time in a zillion years, so she was able to remind me of how slow I am coming up the hill. Although maybe not too outrageously slow, as the pair of roadies who swooped past us at the bottom of the hill weren't all that far ahead at the top.

didn't get to punch Clare today as she forgot her gym gear. We had to do a bit more choreography today - i.e. jab, cross, duck, cross, jab, duck, knee, knee... lucky my partner was on the ball as choreography is my achillies heel, so I'd be punching and weaving to the wrong side, ducking instead of jabbing etc etc. luckily no-one got hurt.

cancelled my zap membership (now that I'm part time and all I can get outside to train), but paid for a months unlimited classes at the gym below my building - so did a HIIT one today. Will box with clare tomorrow.

Orienteering 1:12:00 [3]

oh lordy - what a map that Coles Bay map is. I got to the start triangle on a track junction and just stood there, mustering up the will to leave the track and start bashing down through scrub just so I could bash up the other side - and of course there was no way around. Ugg. Uff. Not my favourite type of orienteering that's for sure.

lovely walk around the hazards loop with the kids. We don't normally visit coles bay in September - the mosquitoes were so ferocious we pretty much had to hold Jett down so they didn't make off with him.

ride home. Now I am part time (as of Today), it means I ride home straight after workout, which means I am hungry and tired. was surprised I didn't take an hour to get home - must have had a tailwind.

sluggish waterworks run. actually when I got there it was blowing a gale so I briefly considered not running due to risk of falling trees (there were SO MANY that blew over there in the last storm). But I ran anyway and no trees fell on me.

kind of fun, kind of awkward. not sure I'll do it again - certainly not without a friend to hit. Hitting strangers is a bit weird.

ride with clare around peter murrell - took new short/long cut route - more single trail, but less climb, but the climb there is, is steeper. I think it ends up being about the same amount of effort and time.

Orienteering race 27:50 [3]

very fun night event at peter murrell reserve. Ran together with Jett on the medium. Mostly on tracks but we did take a few short-cuts through the scrub, which was just about head high for Jett so I kept losing him! fun though.
