Alum Cliffs & bit of hte beach . It was a beautiful morning - people were swimming at the beach and lots out walking. I wanted to run on the mnountain but was running late as usual so had to face the 'pinches' of the aum cliffs run - still nice though.

Note

New Goals given I'm working fulltime now are to try and do 3 runs a week - i.e. two on w/end, one somewhere during the week. plus soccer and/or bball. Easter is next week so at least I won't lose much before then.

Orienteering 37:00 [3]

Incredibly bad summer series run at knocklofty. To call myself a chump would be flattering myself. last week I didn't waste a second. this week I could have lopped off a leg at the start and still performed better than I actually did.

Basketball 35:00 [3]

lacklustre game of bball. would have filled in for denny's team afterwards but the girl who asked me if I could didn't even know my name even though I've filled in for them about 20 times before so I decided they could stick it and I'd go home to my cake work instead. body very stiff and sore so a good decision regardless of my motives.

soccer training with my cousin Alice's soccer team - oh my aching muscles. I'm not saying i feel old or anything but some of the players were SIGNIFICANTLY less than half my age. woe is me.

Clearly the local creche can feel my 'I'm about to go running' vibe as they ring once i have my gear on and make claims that one or other of hte children is displaying a bad attitude, is clearly sick, and therefore must be removed from creche immediately.. as such Jett spent the afternoon with me yesterday riding his hobby horse, driving his toy car, building towers and hanging off my knees if I tried to anything remotely useful.

1.5k - thought about doing more for about 15 seconds, but got out of the pool instead. The japanese swimming team had just finished a training session -gosh they looked toned and I bet they don't even win any medals.

Orienteering race 24:34 [3]

Corporate cup Knocklofty - I ran hard if I do say so myself - happy with result. That should do for speed training for easter.

Basketball race 1:10:00 [3]

As soon as the baskiathalon is introduced to the olympics (swim, run, basketball) - I'm going to kick arse.

easy jog in nature reserved. discovered a couple of new tracks which was nice. very stiff from 3 days of slogging through snake infested button grass.

tassie middle distance champs. still no real errors. gosh i'm good. I think I'm going to be selected as the number 2 M18 for the tassie junior team.

tassie long distance race - littlechild creek. very tiring. no real errros thankfullly or I'd have taken even longer.

Swimming 45:00 [3]

2km swim. booked kids in for 2 hours so i could swim for longer and read the paper page by page (est. time 4 minutes - we're talking the mercury)

Basketball 1:00:00 [3]

2 games, five players in each, one win, one loss. 12 points all up - not surprisingly i got more shots in against the team of up and coming young and luckily very short players (as opposed to us who are short, old and going nowhere ) had fun.

Waterworks short loop - creche were threatening to send jett home so had to keep it short. that and the fact that longer is hillier.

Note

Managed to get into running gear and drive to start of run (at nature reserve). But then I had leave Jess to run solo and drive straight home so we could take zali to hospital with suspected meningitis. Of course after some web-diagnosisi we decided it was just the flu and a heat rash and that she'd probably pull though without the hospital trip. love the web.

third day of non-stop drizzle - great basketball weather really butI thought I'd better run today so I went for a shuffle along the beach and up churchill ave with my raincoat and JJJ.

Basketball 45:00 [3]

18 points pretty good huh . ok ok so that was over three games. I set myself a goal of 20 points for 3 games and thought I was on target after 12 points in chumps league. Unfortunately my true talent shone through as I missed 4 foul shots and about one million shots in the two a-grade games. happily my real team won.
