fun race at Belbins Road. Struggled technically when I tried to navigate, and navigationally when i had to deal with anything technical. Goodness knows how the proper MTBOers do it.

After dropping the kids off at school, jon dropped me off at marieville esplanade. I paddled north up to then into constitution dock, then turned and back to kingston. mirror flat for most of it but then a light tailwind to finish off.

and so starts and ends my training for the 6 hr mtb 'enduro' at Kellevie next Sunday. Thankfully I'm in a team with 2 other people and I've calculated I'll only need to do 3 laps at the most.

was blowing a bit of a southerly so had to head out, then in to get from one end of kingston beach to the other. then had to walk boat into browns river as tide wasn't in enough to paddle through. still, it was nice to have a bit of a paddle and surf,

Long Commute.

Paused in Taroona to pick up a bag of wooden apples. Then in Sandy Bay as I bumped into Jon and Jett walking to school. Then at Lipscombe avenue to say hello to the rest of the gang on their way to school.

aside note: I wonder if this will be enough to keep my nose ahead of undy for this working week..

Paddle Group - nice flat conditions for a change.
From DSS to regatta grounds, then across to eastern short under bridge. Then b-line back to DSS. felt like hard work.

I do not like riding home so much for the following reasons:
1) the hills are at the end rather than the beginning, I hate having hills to look forward to.
2) I've already ridden in
3) After I ride in I have a leisurely shower at the posh royal tennis club, then slouch at my desk for a while reading the smh online and snacking on a free choc-chip muffin. After I ride home I am required to do things.

still. it is very good for me.

the more I do nothing, the harder it is to do something.

So it was a good thing I had paddling group tonight.

Easy paddle up to the bridge, then a time trial back. I started 30 seconds behind dr evil so I made sure I a) made mince meat of him and b) when I passed him I was a fair bit to his right so he couldn't jump onto my wash. Finished a minute or so in front of him. I'm probably the only one who cared tonight though. 4km in 22 or so minutes. I'm sure I couldn't run that fast (and certainly not that far) at the moment.

Walk along newly aligned alum cliffs. was nice.

kayaking 1:39:00 [3] 16.0 km (6:11 / km)

Ocean Paddling State Champs.
Very Long. The big boys set the course for their own enjoyment (6km upwind, 10km downwind across a big bay with lots of lumpy swell which was not always going in right direction. I fell out half way across the downwind section (after zooooming down a wave but then being hit by swell coming from the side) and took 5 mins to get back in. dang. Anyways. I won the ladies division. by virtue of being the only female brave enough to start the course.

Note

Clearly struggling to get off my laurels. Got up at 6 this morning. Got into paddling gear including long wetsuit pants for first time this summer. Went outside. Went inside. Had a shower and went back to bed. the a)Wind b)colder temps and c) darkness are getting the better of me.

Note

Turned up to paddling group but it was cold and windy and rainy and only me and the coach were there, and he looked very dissapointed to see me drive up. I was happy to agree that we should skip it though.
