woohoo!!! finally feeling like the training is paying off. Felt relaxed and smooth riding up to the top (40 minutes worth) then zoomy zoomed down the hill on the other side. got chased by a dog for a little while which kept me moving!

phew that felt like a long way! From cascade brewery up to springs, down north south to tolosa, back to town on bike track, back to kingston.

Hated the hills but got into a reasonable rhythm so was happy about that - after mtbskills advice I'm trying to get nto the habit of using a larger gear which if nothing else does at least make the hill go a bit quicker! legs feel well used now..

three laps of xc course at tolosa. think I've worn through the back brakes so will need to fix them before riding again.

was happy with how i felt - in the olden days I would have had to push up the hill on the very first lap - of course they've re-routed the climb significantly since those days but still..

from cascade brewery up to springs, down north-south then back to car via bike path. lots of stops as it was a social ride. good training and felt ok. have had my back wheel 'trued' which makes a difference when I put the bike into climbing (non-suspension) mode.

cycled saturday's course backwards today - not sure where the extra height to hills came from but there you go! was ok about my ride - I really started to enjoy everything but the uphills whereas yesterday I was just wishing it was all over!

I was happy to also ride down the bit which heaps of people walk down but I really just couldn't be arsed getting off my bike so I rode it with no dramas.
