Day 2 Paddle - After a scary nervous washing machine type chaotic start it was a long paddle out to the first turning buoy off the fisheries. By the time I got there it felt like I was by myself at the back of the field. So I was delighted to turn around the buoy and see more than half the pack behind me. Phew! The race seemed like it was going to go on forever but once I got out to the fisheries the 2nd time I was able to psych myself into making it back aournd the bay and out to the line without exploding. Finished 76th out of 166 paddlers and 3rd woman (out of only 20 - in most of the mixed teams the guys do the paddling). Was stoked to beat at least two other people in my regular paddling group who are normally minutes ahead of me. I'd say I was a bit fresher than them though!
