Executed the perfect storm on the way to the first control, stupidly crossed a track without pinpointing my location on the way, then headed vaguely into the dunes expecting it all to work out. It didn't and I lost 3 minutes. BUT, then I had a great run, ticking off attack points and spiking controls, sometimes by surprise. So very happy wiht the rest of it.

On way home from orienteering we stopped at clarence so the kids could school me in water polo ahead of my first pick-up training/match next saturday. Am confident I will be completely exhausted.
Suspect this was actually even longer - did the usual loop in Peter Murrell but with Jett and his friend and his friend's dad. So was going really slooooooow... Everyone (but me) was fading by halfway so found a few good shortcuts which cut out a fair bit of climb but still left the fun bits in which was nice.

Skyline Trail from churchill ave to Mt Nelson Signal Station Suffered on the way up as usual but was listening to a good podcast so at least had a distraction.
Was going to run, then decided to cycle, so was all set to head off but then I discovered completely flat back tyre. So I drove Zali and her trombone to school instead. Gym later.
another nice commute - ruined the good run at the end though as I cycled around to the back of the building (the power was off so couldn't use the lift in the front - and there's no front stairs). Anyway - while navigating my way around I clipped a wheely bin with my handlebars, and did a classic clipped in slow fall off the pavement onto the cobble stones of salamanca with the wheely bin following me down. hmmph. ripped tights and gloves. hmmph.
cold yet beautiful commute in today. Got blown past by a road cyclist who then slowed down for some reason so I just coasted the rest of the way in behind him. Not sure why he passed me in the first place - it was a lot easier sticking to his back wheel than it is to Clare's and that's when she's on her commuter-girl bike.

nice commute home - got to kingston before I really needed my light - so that's a nice development and it makes the descent fun rather than fraught.
