Orienteering race (Kaiteriteri Rogaine) 1:28:33 [4] *** 12.02 km (7:22 / km) +295m 6:34 / km
ahr:144 max:192 slept:9.0 shoes: Ascics Gel-Pulse 7

Nice bit of fun on mostly the permenant map at Kaiteriteri, but the first time I'd run on it. Course supplemented by some extra controls. Arrived late so only had 5min to plan, but happy with the route and loops I did. Missed only four controls and could have got those with some more thought/better execution. Felt pretty good throughout but didn't drink before so dehydrated which won't have helped with the mistakes.
Missed 2 - Didn't even see them on the map. Hadn't thought them through in planning and so didn't really register - but just need to look at the map!
Missed 2 - Lost about 6 min trying to be clever in the mtb park, only to discover the tracks had changed around a bit and didn't go to the control. So missed the one I was aiming for and lost the time needed to climb to another.

Running 52:19 intensity: (19:19 @3) + (10:00 @4) + (23:00 @5) 7.87 km (6:39 / km) +374m 5:22 / km

Grampians Summit Road then back round to Brook and toward Codgers for a bit. Acceleratis = not good on hard surfaces! Felt ok, ankle good, no strapping etc.

Note
slept:12.0 (sick)

Gutted to come down with a neaseaus/headache type thing after the relay. Crashed out immediatley on getting back to bed. Not much better the next morning so had to miss the Middle distance, which (not being sand dune!) I was looking forward to.

Day of rest, fluids and no food seemed to sort it out.
