Running (Specific Endurance) 3:20:00 [3] 20.6 km (9:43 / km) +1874m 6:40 / km

4 Meall a' Bhuachailles in soft snow. Running and hiking a little less efficient but managed to keep postholing to a minimum. We're due a mega thaw the next few days (11C and warmer at 1000m) so maybe I'll come back in the new year to dry ground. That said, I think an occasional session like this one is no disaster. It gives a pretty thorough muscular work out, like a really bad mud simulator.

Running (Easy) 1:27:00 [2] 15.1 km (5:46 / km) +250m 5:19 / km

First time out it my new micospikes. Yesterday's p&c session was the first for a while so a few things creaking, overall very pleasant though.

Skiing (Easy) 1:10:00 [2]

601m up. Slightly faffy conditions, really just went because it was a nice day and the forecast for the next few days is crap. I'll probably leave off skiing til conditions get actually good.

Note

P&C plus some upper body.

Running (Easy) 1:01:00 [2] 11.2 km (5:27 / km) +133m 5:08 / km

Feeling sprightly today. Still very snowy, threw in 6 or 7 mini speed variations in place of strides, felt good to open my stride out a little.

Turbo (Easy) 1:00:00 [3]

Sweating through my t-shirt, frostbitten toes. Winter is a load of balls. Watched a film in which Anton Krupicka ran around without a shirt on, did some stupid things in the the hills in Colorado and talked A LOT!

Note

S&S and some upper body stuff.

I'm going to ignore you this week and double biking and gym but shall be sure to avoid that later when things get heavier and/or I do some less easy pedalling.

Thought the hurdles would be dreadful after a few weeks laxness on that front but actually it was grand

Running (Easy) 1:04:00 [2] 11.2 km (5:43 / km) +129m 5:24 / km

Running through Narnia, a few inches of soft snow underfoot. Didn't do strides as I was pushed for time and they would've been a slippery farce. Planning on moving the gym sessions back a day this week, I assume it's fine to do them on turbo days?

Skiing (Easy) 57:00 [2]

2.45km, 437m. (This is just skinning time. Is this the best way to log skiing?)

A short, easy trip up the hill, mostly just hunting some sunshine. Conditions were pretty poor but an enjoyable trip out nonetheless.
