Saturday Jan 27 #

Running race (Race) 12:16:00 [3] 57.5 km (12:48 / km) +2500m 10:31 / km

Those are the course planner's distances, we almost certainly did more.

We punched a control in the wrong reentrant, hence the odd results page thing. Irritating that we ran through the correct reentrant to get to the wrong one, and that but for a few moments' carelessness we would have won. Still, 20/21 controls went well enough in increasingly trying conditions. More good than bad etc.

Friday Jan 26 #

Running (Easy) 54:00 [2] 9.7 km (5:34 / km) +161m 5:08 / km

A bit clunky all over, eased into the hill sprints then they went pretty well.

Thursday Jan 25 #

Turbo (Easy) 1:20:00 [2]

I think I took it a little easier than usual, spinning out yesterday's gym session.

PM upper body stuff in the gym.

Wednesday Jan 24 #

Running (Easy ) 1:30:00 [2] 16.3 km (5:31 / km) +334m 5:01 / km

2.5 on the intensity scale, pushing 3 at times, tight stuff loosening through the run. Not many hill type hills but undulating and more of the technical stuff than I usually use on easy runs.

When you say 'with hills' is it runnable stuff that you have in mind or if I did 600-700m on one of these sessions would that the appropriate as long as the intensity stays fairly low?

Monday Jan 22 #

Running (Easy + SVs) 44:00 [2] 7.4 km (5:57 / km) +106m 5:33 / km

Thaw underway, my pristine winter wonderland has become a slushy, slidey, shitty mess. A few bits of tightness came and went in my left leg. Hamstring related yoga after breakfast.

PM gym, p&c and upper body.

Sunday Jan 21 #

Running (Specific Endurance) 3:00:00 [3] 17.2 km (10:28 / km) +712m 8:40 / km

Mostly nav focused rather than vert focused, though I'm going to start going elsewhere for this sort of stuff. There's not much to nav by in the woods here so I end up doing some strange things. Snow on top of forestry mess, not idea training terrain.
