Running with Karen, taking it very easy. Sore quads, skipped strides, plenty stretching and foam rolling afterwards.

(Watch says 5590, Strava adjusts to 5017, 5390 is from contour counting so probably most accurate. 12 Meall a' Bhuachailles, a personal best.)

Started quite tired this morning. Only 5 days since missing a full night's sleep at Dark Mountains and I don't think I've slept particularly well this week so that's no surprise. Fairly even pace throughout, slowed a little towards the end as my quads got tired and it got dark. Ate and drank fairly well, could probably still do with getting more water down.

I was slightly reluctant to pull the plug so far under the time on the plan but with a little leftover tiredness from last weekend, and having more or less go to the vert target you'd suggested if I did the session today I thought it was probably best. It would have been easy to continue, overdo it and get injured/put myself in a hole. Good to keep a little powder dry so I can go into the apocalypse in two weekend's time with some enthusiasm.

Gym bike then went through that hurdles routine and did a little stretching.

I'll do the big day tomorrow, get to ~5,500m and see how I feel.

Easy plod. Various tight bits in lower legs appearing and disappearing, all easing through the run though

Gym session - exercises from upper body and specific strength routines, keeping them on the light side for the legs stuff.

Not actually turbo, both gym bikes were taken. 30' on the rowing machine (til my arse went numb) then 20' walking uphill on the treadmill.

Massage afterwards, she went to town on my back and neck.

At my dad's til tonight. I'll probably go for a wall rather than a run this morning then we're going to the climbing wall this afternoon for some alternative strength work. Cycle and massage tomorrow, plus a couple more night's sleep, I expect I'll be good to go for running on Wednesday.
