Running race (Race) 2:25:00 [4] 21.5 km (6:45 / km) +1690m 4:50 / km

Longer but faster start/finish, much wetter underfoot, not sure how that shakes out.. Pretty much bang on the time for last year and Finlay was 3 minutes slower so who knows what that says about form. Acceptable, seeing as I've only been training for 4 weeks.

A bit of a funny one, never really felt like I had my race legs on and the race mentally definitely drifted in and out. At one point someone passed me on a descent and all I could think was "Good for him!" He closed fucking fast, not surprised I couldn't go with him. Nothing to report on the niggles/injuries front, just the usual beating from a 2+ hour fell race.

Plodding around, lower right leg still a little tight but mostly grand. Hill sprints were good, may have done a bonus one as a I lost count.

Woke up with a but of a case of the Can'tBeFuckeds. Trying to take it a bit easier before Saturday. Lower right leg feeling a bit gummed up, I'll dig into it with a lacrosse ball this evening.

Usual mod run trails, rooty technical bit 90% puddle. A few bits needing a little foam roller attention but mostly grand.

Turbo and gym. Bit tired today.

More watch bullshit regarding vert. Feckin' cold in the wind, a small diversion on the way back to the lodge to try and find my landlady's snow saw.

Pre breakfast jog. A few bits tight or tender from the weekend's exertions but nothing bad. First few strides a little laboured but the rest were fine.

Cycling (Easy) 45:00 [3]

Actual cycling because it's a lovely day, up the the ski car park. Probably working harder on the steepest bits than I would on the turbo but also having significantly more fun.

Gym fine. Noticing progress on the upper body stuff. Barkley '19 I'll be snapping more poles than Gary.

Mucking around on Cairngorm. Moving pretty well I think. 10' barefoot on the beach then a soak in the loch. The return to training has been less shitty than I'd feared it might be. It will be interesting to see where I am at SaC compared with last year.
