Running race 38:50 [5] 7.2 km (5:24 / km) +720m 3:36 / km

Rough time, I'll adjust it when results are up.

2nd pretty much start to finish, a good bit behind Kris Jones who broke Robert Quinn's 1997 course record in 33:XX, but a good bit ahead of third. Worried I might wilt a bit late on with the sunshine but I think I managed to keep it pretty steady.

Enjoyed the view for a while then easy jog back down. (Should I make another log for that so the mileage is right?)

Running (Easy) 50:00 [2] 8.0 km (6:15 / km)

Glas Tulaichean jog down

Running (Easy) 1:15:00 [2] 13.3 km (5:38 / km) +272m 5:07 / km

Sunny jogging, 6 hill sprints were fine. Considered doing a few more but erred on the side of caution before racing tomorrow. Hungry by the end!

Cycling (Easy) 1:02:00 [2]

29.4k, 211m. Maybe some moderate bits on the lumps. Legs took a minute or two to get going.

Running (Easy hills) 1:22:00 [2] 13.3 km (6:10 / km) +540m 5:07 / km

Legs a little stodgy from yesterday's session and a short turnaround from biking this morning. First couple of strides were guff but they came round by the end. Gym session fine.

Running (Long hill reps) 1:25:00 [4] 14.6 km (5:49 / km) +709m 4:41 / km

3 X 10', 10' recovery on lower part of Meall a'Bhuachaille's more runnable side. More aggressive than last time I did these but fewer of them. Thought I might have overdone the first one but covered near enough identical ground on second and third. Quads tired on last jog back down. Now massage time.

Running (Easy hills) 1:30:00 [2] 14.3 km (6:18 / km) +594m 5:13 / km

Effort perhaps towards a 3 on the way up Meall a' Bhuachaille, but legs feeling good and foot not too bothersome. Strides afterwards were grand, nice refreshing dip in the loch afterwards and now sitting with my feet in a bucket of ice. Maybe by the time I go to bed the colour will have returned to my toes. . .

Running (Easy hills) 1:20:00 [2] 13.4 km (5:58 / km) +413m 5:10 / km

Surprisingly fresh/not battered, still erred on the side of caution and avoided steeper hills, particularly downs. Foot funniness moved around in the first fifteen minutes then settled down to a standard tightness, not too bad. Wilted a little in the gym afterwards.

Running (Specific Endurance) 3:30:00 [3] 27.7 km (7:35 / km) +1750m 5:46 / km

Watch vert all over the place because of the weather, think it was about right though. Mega head wind on both big climbs made them a bit of a grind, plus feeling yesterday's exertions. Cautious on the first two downhills then largely freewheeling on the last because I was about done and a bit gubbed. Easy shall mean EASY tomorrow I think, some foam roller love for the quads and ITBs etc. to get me through to Wednesday's massage.
