Still feeling quite tired, but heading in the right direction I think. Less tortuous than last weekend's moderate. Took the first third to really get the rhythm right, munched along fine in the second third, last third spent battling the wind and starting to get hungry. Maybe should've packed a date or two.

No particular niggles, hamstrings and glutes a bit tired towards the end as usual. Foot not too bothersome.

Forecast for the hills tomorrow is 160kph winds and near constant precipitation, so I'll do Monday's easy day tomorrow, then 2 hours in the woods on Monday when it's still pretty bad and the longer run on Tuesday when things should have calmed down.

Legs a bit clunky this morning. Just went with it and chugged along. Ran some more interesting trails today, a few hills and a bunch of more technical rooty singletrack. Right shin was a bit stiff to start with but loosened off ok. Will focus on the calf stuff when I do the s&c work this evening.

Ten minute ride to Feshiebridge. 17 minute jog to and around the shinty pitch with a few strides. Legs a bit creaky, considered shortening the session until GLORY BE TO GOD!!! I found my spikes key lying on the ground. I've been turning the house upside down looking for it, and it's gold, lying on fairly brown grass, so getting it back could only be a divine sign that the session should go ahead as planned.

An easy lap with the spikes on the 8 X 2' w/ 2' roll-on. All low 3'30"s or better apart from the 5th where concentration slipped a little and I ran 3'41". A couple of heans extra on the last one, 3'25". First few roll-ons were a bit keen, they trended slower through the session, ended up 4'30", where they're supposed to be.

Not the freshest I've ever felt. Fatigue building noticeably in the second half of the session. Satisfying to grind through it and tick the boxes.

Changed shoes, 17' jog round the pitch then back to my bike and cycled home.

Out to Nethy on the trails with Barry, turned around because the café was shut, back the same way to Aviemore, 2 coffee's worth of putting the world to rights then up the lodge on my own via the Sluggan pass and some pissing around on the MTB pump track at Badaguish.

Nice and social riding with Barry, a little more consistent on the ride to the lodge, some non negotiable huffing and puffing on the steepest, roughest bits up to the top of the Sluggan. Great to get a longer ride on the gravel bike and a refreshing change of routine.

On second thoughts, maybe it is time for an easy week. Shuffle round the woods this morning, not particularly dire just feeling quite tired. Right shin started tight but improved. Left foot was mostly alright but didn't particularly like the strides on the road at the end. Might go a longer bike ride in the better weather tomorrow.

Maaaan this was a grind. Pretty tired right from the off, second half was a bit of a struggle. Cold today, tiny bit of snow on the trails, a bit icy in places. Being a little cautious on any of the rooty stuff. Just about threw my toys out the pram when I had to slog through 100m of trail that had turned into a stream towards the end. Took all the oomph I had to add a trip up hill rep hill to pad the time right before home.

No niggles really. Left hamstring/towards the ITB a bit cranky in the final quarter or so and the muscles that attach right at the front of your pelvis were weirdly tired in the last little bit. Foot much as it has been.

I've tomorrow off work in lieu for working Friday. Been feeling pretty tired the last few days so I'll take it really easy. Push the gym back to Tuesday and cut the run short or go full sofa rest day.
