Note

Chaos. First I let myself get convinced to run the 1st leg in the men's relay on Saturday. One of the guys in my father's oldie-goldie-team had to back out short noticed. Don't know whether it is a good idea, but "YOLO!!", I told myself. I just hope I'm going to step on the right train from the beginning, because honestly, my night-O skills are not only rusty but rather non-existing... But I'm psyched for the adventure!!! Then SAS has obviously downgraded me from my Silverbonus, meaning I can only travel with handluggage. Love. That. And, as the cherry on top, the same airline is striking. So half an hour after I was told I could check-in, my flight from Sthlm to Helsinki got cancelled. So after desperately trying to find an alternative for about an hour, it's going to be the ferry from Sthlm anyway. So let's see whether I'm going to make it! :)

Running 41:00 [2]

Tired legs today so I replaced the planned interval-session with an easy jog and some drills followed by 5 uphill-sprints (I know Venla is going to be quite flat, but I usually feel better uphill than flat so it was good for my ego).

Orienteering race (Relay) 44:00 [4]

5-er Staffel. Ran the second leg in OLG Herzogenbuchsee (Marion, me, Katja, my dad, Joel). Was a bit worried about my preparations before the race (i.a. going to bed...well late ;)). But turned out that seeing Coldplay for the first time ever the night before (why, am I asking myself, haven't I done this earlier, I know all of their songs by heart!) was the perfect thing to do. I was still "high" and singing (not aloud though) in the forest.

Also I was just enjoying having a map in my hands after quite a long time without! Did a good job both technically (passing #1 without seeing it made me pay more attention for the rest of the race) and physically. It was crazy muddy and slippery (great combination with steep slopes), but my legs were good today and I could push hard in the uphills. Felt like Spiderwoman or something when I dragged myself up to #11, map between my teeth and nails digging into the mud... Some mini-mistakes, but a good overall performance which resulted in a victory on my leg. The rest of the team did oktoo and we finished as no. 10!

Cycling long (Roadbike) 1:54:00 [3]

Passed places I never have heard of (even though they are quite close to Bern) on this trip... Mix of forest, poppy fields, mountain views, valleys with awesome bridges and a crazy steep part where I would have won any Strava segment if there was one. Supernice, apart from a short intermezzo quite in the beginning with a flat tire. It was actually the first time EVER this happened to me (quite strange as I have been biking a lot!) and I had no idea how to solve the problem. Luckily I had my personal service-man (Trutti) who both had tools and could fix it for me :). Which was both good and bad, cause now I still don't know how to do it (I pretended to watch and learn, but my brain capacity was a little limited today so it was just watch, haha). So I guess I'll just continue hoping that, if it should ever happen again, maybeeeee, you're gonna be the one who saves meeeee.

Running warm up/down 15:00 [3]

Sun!! So I did the warm-up outside! Knee was runnable again already, resting a little was probably good (skipped the planned orienteering session yesterday evening, sometimes I seem to be quite smart after all). Wehoo!

Strength (Gym) 45:00 [3]

With Trutti. 30' legs, 15' core.

Roller-skiing long 1:19:00 [2]

Around the airport with Trutti. Met two boys on their way to kindergarden (I officially apologize to their teacher if they were late. But they really really wanted to know why I was "learning to ski when there was no snow" and happily shared their own, and their mother's and their brother's skiing experiences. Kids are the best!). Also, 2minutes after a glance at the dark clouds and the words "see, wasn't it good I convinced you to get up early? We're at least going to make it home before the rain", how else could it be, it started to pour down. Like. A lot. So the road became all slippery and again, how else could it be, I produced a very nice faceplant when crossing the tram rails. Knee hurts a little now, but I'm alive.
