"Let's go for a ride", Trutti said. Mhm, turned out to become a pretty long one (but those spontaneous ones are always the best ones!). Bern-Gurnigel-Rüeggisberg-Schwarzenburg-Bern. 71.83km with about 1530m of climb. Unfortunately, we did not really get the view we would have deserved (super foggy!), but it was a very nice session anyway. Worked on my downhill-skills. Got 68 km/h as max speed on my Garmin, no idea whether that is fast, but it felt fast at least and Trutti could not get rid of me where it was steep (where he did not have the weight-advantage ;)). Yeah!

Guess I'll skip the second session today though :P.

Last selection race for WUOC, sprint in Rubigen. Felt good physically and did ok technically except some route-choices that weren't the best ones (#3, #11). Beaten by Marion by a few seconds - again! Have to work on my sprint-skillz.

Note

Exam on Tuesday. Just realized that the next two nights are going to be short if I want to make it through all the slides... When did I become that bad at planning??! :'(

Orienteering race (Long) 1:22:00 [4]

Same as yesterday but without any stupid rocky pit. ;) Good navigation, felt in control all the way (or if I didn't, I forced myself to take a short stop). Caught Martina R at #4 and ran with her for big parts, got some help to #10 when I was clambing around in a cliff and to #12 when I suddenly was a bit confused (happens if you push hard) but focused on my own map reading otherwise. There are always small things you could have done better in a longdistance, such as way too much hesitating to #14 (or well it was not sooooo long, I was not completely dead at the finish - would have preferred 90'...). However, it was a stable race and my legs were good. Good flow and good fun, so I'm happy :). Natalia was flying today!!!
