Note
(sick)

Flew to Kauai yesterday. Caught a cold (stupid AC everywhere!), feeling tired today, running nose&sore throat. So today just chillin' and a little snorkelling at a beaaaautiful beach.

Strength 45:00 [2]

Surfing with Steffi and Alejandro (a random Venezuelan guy we met the day before, he gave us a lesson for free). God. I'm really not a talent, was actually a bit scary (quite big waves!!). Probably cause I hit my foot on a reef quite in the beginning and started bleeding (all I could think about was "sharks sharks sharks"). Luckily didn't see any, only dolphins and turtles :D! Were in the water for 2,5hrs but I was probably only paddeling for about 45mins or so, the rest was just sitting on my board and looking cool while getting tanned. Pretty exhausted afterwards.

Running 16:00 [2]

To Haleiwa beach.

Strength (Core) 24:00 [2]

No complaints about the view... ;)

Strength 15:00 [1]

Stand-up paddling on Haleiwa river for about an hour, I'll count 15' as core/arm strength.

Hiking 4:00:00 [1]

Hiked the Kau'a crater trail. Sooo cool!! First up to the crater, along (and in) some awesome waterfalls, then around on the ridge of the crater and a little more gentle trail back down. All muddy as hell, and at some places I found it was pretty scary (ridge and then steeeep down on both sides). But so worth it, a true experience - especially with a non-orienteer. Eventhough I have never done anything similar before neither (I'm going to feel my arms tmrw from all the dragging myself up the ropes)...Proud of Steffi, she's cool and we were a good team!! :)

Hiking 1:00:00 [1]

Walk to some cool waterfall, starting from close to Pali Lookout.
5 PM

Running warm up/down 28:00 [3]

Changed my hill-run into an interval-session :P. Was already at the top of the Lanakai pillox after 10' so I decided to run further to some other tops (where there suddenly were no people instead of hundreds...). Then did intervals in the flat after descending. Got almost lost, but Americans are helpful :).

Running intervals 24:00 [4]

8x2' with 1' rest. Felt pretty good! Foot not too much of a problem.

Running warm up/down 6:00 [2]

Strength (core) 5:00 [2]

Will do.

Running 1:27:00 [2]

OMG. Got up at 5.40 because I wanted to catch the sunrise at Diamond Head and not get stuck in the tourist-mass... FAIL. Both missed the sunrise and had to fight my way up and past hundreds and thousands of Japanese people. Well well, the view was still amazing and it was totally worth it. But a quite long run to do on empty stomach, almost hit the wall :P. Also pain in my left foot. Bleh.

Running 55:00 [1]

Dragged Steffi with me for a "short" run to Ala Moana Park. Well it was a little bit longer than expected :P She fell asleep all dressed up after showering just before we left for dinner. Have to be a bit more easy on her probably ;). But worth to see the sunset at Waikiki!
