Orienteering race (Australian champs) 2:27:00 [4] 9.5 km (15:28 / km)
shoes: brooks trance
Firstly a big thanks to mum for purchasing some runners over the phone for me, athletes foot for their complimentary socks, to posty for some o-pants, to bruce for an o-top, to toph for a compass and to WA guy whose name i don't know for a control description holder.

Unfortunately I had a pretty dismal run. took over 20 mins to find the first contol, i had numerous stuff ups after that (too many to list them all) and found it pretty hard to think after being out there for well over 2 hours. I struggled with the 1.15000 scale and felt physically exhausted the entire way.

Maybe stress had something to do with it.....
or maybe elites is just too tough for me and i should start running 21AS.

Came last but really I was just happy to finish the course ( I nearly gave up at the spectator control)

Note
How to prepare for nationals

1. Go to the beach in Perth, while soaking up some sun, have some druggo/dero/shit-heads steal all your gear, and I mean all your gear

2. look in the st vinnies bins for some spare clothes (no luck but worth a look)

3. call a friend (Posty you're the best!) go round to her house and find some o-gear and a jumper that fits. Have her lovely sister feed you some lunch and find you some camping gear to borrow.

4. Go to police station, between the 3 off you fill 5 pages worth of stolen items. Get police report to use later as id for the plane trip home.

5. Have a look in cash convertors and sand dunes at the beach just for the piece of mind that you did all you could to maybe locate missing gear.

6. Call Your Mum, who then saves the day by purchasing runners over the phone at athletes foot.

7. Have lovely friends/travelling companions buy you some undies, soap and tooth brushes and lend you money for food.
