Cross Country Race (Tan Relays) 15:40 [5]
happy with my time, was just wanting to do less than 16

Tuesday Sep 18

Run 40:00 [3]
ran around priny and royal park, was a rather boring run. Can't believe how horn happy people in this city are, really starting to give me the shits. Motorists don't like bikes taking up precious space on the roads, and don't believe in allowing others any peace and quiet, there should always be noise.

Sunday Sep 16

Adventure race race (Teve adventure race) 3:58:00 [4]
shoes: Asics Kayano
Team Zij consisting of zoe, ilka and jasmine set out early on sunday morning to the teva adventure race at the You Yangs. Zij was one of the first few teams to find the turbo challenge cards enabling us to skip a control later on (although it took a while to realise we had to ask the people for the card instead of just look around).

I spent most of the 2 hours of mt bike O pedalling my heart out trying to keep up with gun riders zoe and jas. Jas set the scene in the control circles early on, always zipping in quickly from the track to find the control ahead of the non-orienteers who would zoom past us on their speedy bikes on the tracks then stop and stand around looking confused not knowing how to best locate the controls once in the vicinity. HIghlight of the race- Jas leaping down into an erosion qully to get a control first, passing all these fit looking guys who were trying to climb carefully down and not fall.

Many fun challenges along the way involving mental challenges, team work and imagination. Zoe always quick to put the clues together and come up with the goods (almost winning us an extra prize being the only competitor to find the place where the hidden stash was was, just not the hidden stash) not to mention coming up with the story about the hippo chasing the bird along the nile river in 20 seconds flat.

Second half of the race involving a climb up flinders peak and then some orienteering back down the mountain to head quarters. Team Zij won the womens (by 2 hours) our skills in navigation most likely contributing but also our toughness, quick thinking and just being an awesum team.

Anyway Awesum day, heaps of fun! Must do more adventure races

The next day however, was not so great for team Zij, involving a nasty crime, a missed train home, a bruised heart and last but definately not least some very stinky dog shit, leading to some misplaced shoes.....
