Run 45:00 [3]

Morning run along the beach in Barcelona. It was pretty hot by 9 o´clock, very refreshing to go for a swim in the sea afterwards.
Caught a bus up to parc guel. A garden/ prak on the hill above the city, was a pretty nice garden with some interesting Gaaudi buildings but swamped with tourists so did´nt stay too long. Made my way back to the city, and spent a few hours at the museum of Catalunya. Very interesting... nice that they had translations in English too!
This evening I wandered around the old town, had a lovely meal and then wandered some more. It´s amazing how everyone is still out on the streets late into the evening and all the shops are still open. I feel quite safe walking around the streets at night here.

Run 1:00:00 [3]

Arrived in Barcelona this morning on the night train. Night trains are such a good way to travel- I wish we had them at home. Had a good night sleep in a little 4 bed cabin which I shared with an American and Spanish girl, then woke up in the morning in a new country :-) Barcelona seems so much easier to navigate than Paris, found the hostel with no problems. Managed to buy a ticket and my Lunch in Spanish. It´s fun when the other person doesnt know much english, and I really do have to try in Spanish to get my message across.

Went for a run along the beach, then a swim in the sea with the masses. The beaches are packed, but the water is nice and cold. There are lots of people out exercising here- running, cycling, rollerblading along the foreshore, its a nice change from Paris. I dont understand why the Parisians are´nt fatter, I reallly didnt see anywhere where you could exercise during my 3 day stay, so little green space, and everywhere is so packed.

Spent the afternoon exploring the old town, I´m staying in the gothic area- its very cool, narrow cobblestone alleyways, too narrow for cars, so just people and bikes. heard the first 2 of Italy´s goals from out on the street, so went to watch the rest of the game. It was pretty cool, they´re all really into the soccer here.
