Note

~4 hours of geography field work. Getting gps points to map some features at Muir of Dinnet. Lots of walking up and down hills and round in circles so a bit pooped. Feels like I’ve covered every inch of muir if dinnet now after this and the British nights.

Pt 2. Enjoyed being back on a bike. Bit annoyed because my bike is in the shop getting fixed due to the specialized recall so had to take the old cyclocross which is pretty heavy. Taking it very easy, staying next to dad most of the way. Didn’t put in any big efforts on the hills as I needed an easy day. Along N deeside to potarch and then along to ballogie. The toms cairn hill was a proper grind, with big gusts of wind near the top. Finzean was verrryyy windy so spent most of my time sheltering behind dad trying not to be blown off. Stopped to tighten my shoes and accidentally saved my garmin. Well done. Best bit was definitely the resurfaced road to the AA phone box, so smooth. Took the knockburn road back to banchory and the rain started coming down pretty heavy. Couldn’t be bothered to stop and put a waterproof on so close to home so arrived home looking like a drowned rat.

Ditching the parkrun tomorrow morning. L leg still not right and woke up with a sore throat. Can feel it when I swallow but no coughing yet. Double doses of echinacea and an easy day tomorrow, probs cycle.

Time Trial #3. Deeside runners. Small turnout tonight so was more of a solo effort. The session was a repeat of the TT we did at the start of the season. 3x mile reps around Rhu Na Haven/Barclay park, with a long recovery (~4) as aim was to try and get same time for each rep. Last time i hit 6:29 for each rep, so improvement on every rep (especially rep 1 and 2) this time but more inconsistent. Kinda gave up on the last rep. Overall still very pleased as i didnt feel as good as i did last time, more sluggish, but still recorded faster times. Also now joint Strava crown on the segment with SW which was a bonus.
