Birnam Hill race - first Scottish hill race. 3rd lady, 1st junior. Was a brutal climb, quickly realised walking was the best option for steepest bits. 3rd lady all the way up the climb, dropped a bit behind on the false summit bit but overtook and was 2nd for the descent. The descent was soooo long and was pushing the whole way to gain distance on the lady. Ruined my glutes/legs/everything so was not prepared for the rolling up and down 2km left to the finish. Dropped back to 3rd, fell over. Knew I had was well in front of 4th so wasn’t worried and just kept moving. V happy with my time and looking forward to the next one.

WU to the start and Scottish Middle distance. Second time up to the summit of Birnam today. Didn’t start running till the course started going downhill, and even then struggling to run downhill as everything hurt. Course was really well planned and fun, wish I could of raced it properly.

No orienteering tonight so went on a nice wee cycle with Amber. Just went at a very leisurely pace, bit of glen o Dee trails and some road.

Had a pretty shit day so head wasn’t in the right place. 3x1 mile reps (time trial route rhu Na haven/Barclay). Put in a big effort on the first rep, big PB (anti-clockwise Lap) and got the segment which has cheered me up a bit. Rep two was pretty average, good time and still working hard. Rep 3 was nearing to a jog by the end, legs stiff. Good enough session and happy with what I got done. Cleared the head for a bit
