Orienteering 31:15 [4] 4.0 km (7:49 / km)
(sick)

Right from the start felt that I had nothing in my legs after Saturday. Lost about 30seconds on first two controls because of poor picture in the circle.

Trudged round with the lead slowly coming closer (I think due to gaffling rather than my speed), finished ok, running with Jake for last few controls to sprint for 4th/5th place with him, (depends here you take the finish, handover/punch).

Not great, but position not too bad and felt worse than it was when out there due to the weird gaffling and therefore thinking everyone else was a long way ahead when I had my shorter gaffles still to come.

Also, my cough has carried on too long and isn't going to recover without rest, doctors tomorrow and a full rest week.

Orienteering race 1:02:30 [5] 7.67 km (8:09 / km)

Was feeling pretty good warming up and really got into the warm up map.
Picked up mapsaw long leg, stopped for 15seconds at start kite to plan but there was no other route choice than straight. Ran pretty solidly with a small hesitation into the control.
Solid to #2 and pleased with RC to #3 running low to avoid the bracken.
Small mistake to #4 losing 1minute.
Jake caut me here and ran most of way up big hill for a solid split to #5. Was really feeling the knee high heather.
Ok to #6 although 20 seconds lost in circle.
Ok downhill to #7 But starting to bonk. If this has been the finish would have been pleased.
Across path into flat area and really bonking hard, was going so slow trying to not lose massive time. Lost 1minute in the circle.
Ok to #9 but practically walking bits of it.
Out of #10 basically done, feeling dazed. Couldn't work out where what path I was on, running up and down here, 1:30 lost. Ran round path, so slow and totally messed up circle, 4mins lost. Managed to get home with only 30 seconds more lost.
My run was a bit weird, ran solidly where I expected to lose big time in the tough stuff and lost big time where I expected to be ok.
Pleased technically but need to get some longer runs in before m18 next year.

Recovery orienteering.
Really chilled orienteering at Hog Wood. No mistakes, but really slow so loads of time to read and high visibility.
Lost time standing at each control making sure I found the exact feature, some of those "boulders" are pretty small/ not there.

Running warm up/down 20:00 [3] 2.5 km (8:00 / km)
